Catherine has overall responsibility for running the two laboratories in the natural toxins section. The microalgae laboratory provides analyses of marine and fresh water to identify algae species of interest to public health, regulatory bodies, regional councils, water supply authorities and private companies.
In her current role since 2008, Catherine has immersed herself in the job by being part of the hands-on analyses team in both laboratories, liaising closely with customers and regulatory authorities.
